Alternative medicine

Alternative medicine describes practices used in place of conventional medical treatments.

Complementary medicine describes alternative medicine used in conjunction with conventional medicine.

The term complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is an umbrella term for both branches.

Alternative medicine includes practices that incorporate spiritual, metaphysical, or religious underpinnings; non-European medical traditions, or newly developed approaches to healing.

Minnesota Comes One Step Closer to Medicinal Marijuana

TheStreet (May 7, 2014) The Minnesota Senate approved a medicinal marijuana bill on Tuesday and the bill will now to go the House, which is expected to review a more restrictive version of medicinal marijuana legislation on Friday. The vote was bipartisan and overwhelmingly in favor of legalizing medicinal marijuana. Governor Mark Dayton (D) originally said he was opposed to the measure, but now sounds like he will listen to the patients who want their doctors to be able to offer this alternative medicine.
