Acute nasopharyngitis, often known as the common cold, is a mild viral infectious disease of the the upper respiratory system (nose and throat).
Symptoms include sneezing, sniffling, nasal congestion; scratchy, sore, or phlegmy throat; coughing; headache; and tiredness.
