Summary:
Energy expert Dan Dicker talks with TheStreet's Jim Cramer about his outlook for gasoline prices this summer and for the refiners that produce it. Continued strong global gas prices are being met with relatively weak domestic crude prices. Dicker explains why this is good for the refiners, but bad for U.S. drivers. Add that to a tough winter and gas stations that are changing their model for selling gas, and you’ve got a bad summer in store for driving. Video provided by TheStreet

End of Crude Oil Export Ban Means the End of the Game for Refiners

TheStreet (July 2, 2014) — Dan Dicker, energy contributor at RealMoney, talks to Jim Cramer about the Commerce Department's recent decision to allow the reclassification of condensates as a refined product, in effect ending a 40-year old ban on the export of domestically produced crude oil. This will expand the business of distilling crude oil for export overseas, benefiting U.S. exploration and production companies and some transport MLPs. The losers will be the U.S. refiners, who will see the end of the price advantage they have enjoyed for the last 4 years. Dicker says he would not own any of them right now. More Car Shoppers Going Mobile, Tesla Rises to the Top

TheStreet (May 14, 2014) — Auto shoppers are using mobile devices more than ever to find the car of their dreams, says Avi Steinlauf, CEO of Edmunds.com. Steinlauf says shoppers are not always seeking out the cheapest vehicle with 64% of buyers saying time and price are of equal importance. He says shoppers on average will visit two dealers and take two test drives. On that score, Steinlauf says 80% of shoppers who take test drives will purchase a car within two weeks. Finally, Steinlauf says the recall controversy is not affecting GM shoppers and he says Tesla is worth the hype if price and range are not an issue. Video provided by TheStreet
