Giant Fish Returns to Dutch Waters

Radio Netherlands (May 10, 2012) — Princess Laurentien released three sturgeons into the wild near Rotterdam yesterday. The fish species disappeared from Dutch waters over half a century ago because of pollution and overfishing. The sturgeons are equipped with transmitters so that scientists can monitor them. Experts are hopeful that the sturgeon can now survive again in Dutch rivers.
