Interactive Head Tracker for Soldiers Unveiled

Reuters (June 25, 2013) — A prototype system allowing fighter pilots and soldiers on the battlefield real-time situational awareness was unveiled at last week's Paris Air Show by US defense manufacturers Raytheon. Called the Joint Tactical Air Controller system - or JTAC - the technology is designed to help prevent friendly-fire incidents where pilots inadvertently attack their allies.

AFP (July 26, 2012) — Preparing for his attempt to become the first person to break the speed of sound in free-fall, Felix Baumgartner made a successful test jump on Wednesday from a balloon at an altitude of over 96,640 feet, reaching speeds of 536 miles per hour.

US Navy Embraces Biofuelled Future

Reuters (Oct. 5, 2011) — In its goal to significantly decrease its dependency on foreign oil, the US Navy has successfully tested its first unmanned reconnaissance helicopter powered by biofuel. The trial was the second successful test for the Navy in as many weeks.
