The booms would be anchored to the sea floor where ocean currents would push the plastic into the arms and eventually into a collection bin where it would be recycled. Reuters (Apr. 26, 2013) — Researchers at Georgia Tech University have developed an organic solar cell made from plants. The biodegradable, transparent films are designed to replace the layers of glass or plastic found in conventional solar cells, heralding the possible development of solar panels that are 100 percent recyclable.
