Scientists have discovered a fish-animal, Tiktaalik roseae, they're saying is a new link in the evolutionary chain when it comes to the development of limbs. The 9-foot crocodile-like, 375-million-year-old creature was first discovered in 2004, but is now taking it's place as an important link. Patrick Jones (@Patrick_E_Jones) has the rest.

A fishing ban is unlikely, so one solution is to breed the fish in underwater cages. But they're not easy to rear in captivity. In Australia, German-born Hagen Stehr is working to mimic natural living conditions of the fish in his onshore farm. The idea is to create an artificial model of the journey to their spawning grounds in order to trick the fish into reproducing.
