More Shoppers Buy Google Chromebooks Than Apple Mac Books This Year

TheStreet (Dec. 30, 2013) Sales of Google's Chromebook surged this year -- outselling Apple's MacBook, according to a study by research group NPD. From January through November 2013, 1.76 million Chromebooks were sold -- that's up from a total of 400,000 sold last year. Altogether, Chromebooks made up 21% of notebook sales in 2013. Meanwhile, NPD's report showed that Apple's desktop and laptop sales dropped 7%. Amazon's list of hottest products during the holidays backs up the findings, as Chromebooks were its top two laptop sellers.

TheStreet (Jan. 31, 2014) HP has a new business laptop, the EliteBook 820, which the company advertises as "ultra-portable" and "ultra secure." What HP isn't advertising is that the EliteBook allows users to dump Windows 8 and go back to Windows 7. The laptop is available with an i3 or i5 processor, 4 gigabytes of RAM, a 12.5 inch non-touchscreen display, a traditional or solid-state hard drive, and fingerprint scanner. Sony Patenting 'Smart Wig'

Buzz60 (Nov. 22, 2013) Sony is attempting to patent designs for a 'smart wig.' The patent reveals the wig would work in conjunction with a smartphone or tablet and would feature GPS, a laser and an actuator to detect nearby objects. Patrick Jones has the rest.
