What to Expect When Apple Debuts Its Next iPhone Model

TheStreet (June 24, 2014) — While Apple has been as coy as ever on what it has in the pipeline, here’s what we can likely expect from the next iPhone launch. First, the unveiling of the next Apple smartphone should occur in early fall, perhaps as soon as mid-September. Second, pundits bet the next model will veer away from the traditional numerical naming system, instead being called iPhone Air. According to leaked snaps circulated on Reddit, the iPhone could boast a larger screen than what the current four-inch models have. Lastly, backloaded revenue from Apple supplier GT Advanced Technologies indicates this model will use sapphire crystal for its display screen material. Video provided by TheStreet

Apple Vows to Fix iPhone 5 Models With Faulty Sleep/Wake Buttons

TheStreet (Apr. 28, 2014) — Apple says it will fix applicable iPhone 5 models with problematic sleep/wake buttons for free. The company announced it has launched a program to fix iPhone 5s models that were manufactured through March 2013 -- as long as the phone is otherwise working properly and has a qualifying serial number, which customers can check on Apple's Web site. It will take four to six days for phones to be repaired -- but the company will provide 16GB iPhone 5 loaners in the meantime. Video provided by TheStreet

Apples Rolls Out New Software Updates for Developers at WWDC14

TheStreet (June 2, 2014) — Apple introduced new operating system updates at the World Wide Developer's Conference in San Francisco, Yosemite and iOS8. OS X.X for laptops and desktop computers is now called "Yosemite". Updates to the platform allow devices to communicate more effectively with other Apple devices. This will help compete with Google Drive and Google Docs and will push users to stay within the Apple eco system. Apple's newest "employee" Dr. Dre made a cameo appearance by phone to help demonstrate how computers will be able to locate iPhone's within the home. This function will allow users to make and receive phone calls through their computers. iOS 8 for iPhones and iPads helps that process as well. But, there are also updates for sharing pictures and controlling home appliances, Home Kit, and making mobile devices more hands free in vehicles. Users will also be able to aggregate health information from all the apps they use in Health Kit. Sergio Quintana reports from San Francisco. Video provided by TheStreet
