1976 Tangshan earthquake

The Tangshan earthquake of July 28, 1976 is one of the largest earthquakes in loss of life to hit the modern world.

The epicentre of the earthquake was near the industrial city of Tangshan in Hebei, China, which housed around one million inhabitants.
