Toxic shock syndrome

Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a rare but potentially fatal disease caused by a bacterial toxin.

Different bacterial toxins may cause toxic shock syndrome, depending on the situation.

The causative agent is Staphylococcus aureus.
